A completed garden design project in Cambridgeshire. This garden started out completely covered in Leylandii. Once they were removed the project was able to proceed. This has an oriental feel planting. The customer who suffers with anxiety wanted a garden where he could feel secure and very calm in.

Rural Landscape transformed in Cambridgeshire

Urban and Rural Landscapes planted up over 3000 bulbs last autumn in the “little orchard” garden. We have been doing some ongoing garden design work within this garden and this flourish of spring bulbs which is planted up in longer grass, really is quite striking. People often struggle with large lawns and ask me what they can do with them. Allowing grass to become taller in some areas can really change the dynamics of the garden. Mass planting bulbs that can flower from January to May can really make an area like this stand out.

Garden design drawings are moving forward.

As a case study at college, this garden design drawing has been designed on a 45 degree axis from the house and brings a totally different feel to a garden. With render (colour) it lifts the artwork and gives it some depth.

A large garden design project based in St Neots Cambridgeshire is coming on well. This is stage one of the project and we are pretty much up to date with it now. Come spring time there will be lots of planting needed to be done, to really bring these areas together. A Mediterranean / Italian feel is what is required by the customer, who has Italian roots. Looking forward to it all coming together in the New Year.

The use of prickly plants whilst planting a hedge is a great way for creating a boundary around your property which acts as a deterrent for unwanted intruders. In this planting we used Holly, Hawtorn and Pyracanther and infilled it with Hornbeam and Field Maple. Once established this hedge will give a myriad of berries and colour which will look fantastic in Autumn and Winter.

After extending their garden outwards, this customer wants a tiny piece of countryside within their own garden. This new piece of grassland will be turned into a tiny orchard and will be under planted with a mass of spring bulbs. Further work to the existing garden is underway which will have a winding path from the patio, leading you to the orchard. Coxs Pippin, Victoria plum and John Downie trees have been used here.
