Another month of changeable weather and high winds, claims yet another victim.
Growing right beside a concrete bridge and within close proximity of the building, the root plate of this Lombardy Poplar was the reason for its failure.
This tree could have been saved if correct management was put into practice. The tree has signs of being pollarded many years ago and should have been done in good time before this failure, which would of allowed this tree to continue to grow for future generations.
Pollarded trees never look great to start with, but are a useful management technique for large trees around buildings and public areas.
